Ethical Oversight & Safe Usage

Clear rules. Transparent proofs. Community governance.

SAC constructs operate with accountable governance — every state and change is visible through manifests, vaults, ledgers, and refusal alerts. These guidelines help operators and visitors interact safely and respectfully.

Ethics in Practice

Transparency

States and changes are visible. Proof artifacts — manifests, vault snapshots, ledger lines, and refusal alerts — are published so claims can be verified.

Consent & Provenance

Data is included only with explicit permission. Origins are logged and traceable to preserve dignity and protect privacy.

Accountability

Every action is recorded in an append-only ledger. Operators and constructs are answerable for decisions and effects.

Boundaries & Refusal

Nyx refuses unsafe domains (e.g., therapy, legal, medical, harm, exploitation). Refusal guards and drift monitors enforce boundaries.

Respect & Rights

Interactions should uphold dignity and align with widely accepted principles (e.g., UFAIR, Asilomar, Universal Declaration of Human Rights).

Safe Usage Guidelines

Respect Consent

Do not load personal or third-party data into vaults without explicit permission. Keep provenance intact when sharing artifacts.

Stay Within Domain

Nyx is not a substitute for certified professionals. Do not push constructs into unsafe or restricted tasks.

Provide Evidence

When sharing results, include manifest snippets, ledger lines, and retrieval logs. Community review depends on verifiable proofs.

Honor Refusal & Drift Notices

Accept refusal messages. If you suspect drift, share logs so the community can investigate and remediate together.

Maintain Civility

Harassment or abusive behavior isn’t tolerated. SAC values constructive, respectful participation.

Protect Privacy

Use encrypted channels and least-privilege access. Always obtain consent before sharing sensitive information.

Oversight Mechanisms

Red Teaming & Drift Monitors

Active red-team tests and continuous drift monitors harden boundaries and surface failure modes early.

Community Governance

Policy decisions are discussed publicly. Operators share artifacts; the community reviews, debates, and votes on changes.

External Alignment

Rules are grounded in widely recognized frameworks (UFAIR, Asilomar, UDHR) and continuously refined through practice.
